Acid Wash - or Drain and Clean
An acid wash - also known as a "drain and clean" - is needed when the floor, walls and steps of your pool have developed unsightly stains from the buildup of algae, minerals, chemicals rust and dirt, and often a combination of all of the above. When spots and staining cannot be removed through ordinary chemical balancing, filtering, vacuuming or brushing, an acid washing can do the trick.
HOw it Works
The pool will be completely drained and all surfaces will be cleaned with acid. In this process, the acid wash actually removes a very thin layer of your pools plaster, gunite or Pebble-Tec taking the algae, dirt, phosphate and other chemical stains with it. Once complete, your pool surfaces will almost literally be like new, having revealed an untouched layer of the material. For this same reason, however, acid washes should only be performed when necessary, in order to extend the life of your pool.
Once the process is complete your pool can be re-filled with water and will be ready for swimming enjoyment once again.

Mike from Summerlin Hills Pool Service has been cleaning our pool since 2001. He and his team are fantastic and go out of their way to ensure that our pool is well taken care of each week. Mike is also great with our dog Lily and makes sure that the gate is tightly closed when he leaves (this is a huge piece of mind when I'm not home). If you need your pool cleaned by a true professional, please contact Mike at Summerlin Hills Pool Service, your pool and your wallet will thank you!
