There are few things as inviting as the sparkling blue water of a swimming pool! But if the pool has gone green it is definitely not so inviting anymore and can pose many risks. There are any number of reasons for algae bloom to occur - from stagnant water due to pool filtration, lack of proper chemical balance, to the pool being left unattended for too long. But no matter what the reason, Summerlin Hills Pool Service can help get you that sparkling blue pool water once again.
Green Pool Water
If your pool or spa water has started to develop a greenish tint, you most likely have algae beginning to form. If the problem has only just started it is still possible that chemical treatments and adjustments can solve it and restore your water to sparkling healthy conditions. We are experts at adjusting chemicals for this type of algae removal.
Chlorine Wash
If algae bloom in your pool water has reached the level where chemical treatment alone will not solve the problem then it may be time for a drain and clean. Once the pool water is completely drained we will give the floor, side and all surfaces a chlorine wash. The chlorine will kill all remaining algae and it will be time to re-fill your pool once again.
Acid Wash
Left untreated for a long enough time, algae bloom can pose serious problems. If it has reached the point where chemical treatment of the water and a chlorine wash are still not enough, our drain and clean service will include an acid wash. In these cases where algae is resistant to all other methods, an acid wash will actually remove a very thin layer of you pools plaster or tile and along with it all remaining algae. The layer is thin enough that the algae will be destroyed but your pool will remain intact. Once re-filled, it will be like a new beginning.

Mike from Summerlin Hills Pool Service has been cleaning our pool since 2001. He and his team are fantastic and go out of their way to ensure that our pool is well taken care of each week. Mike is also great with our dog Lily and makes sure that the gate is tightly closed when he leaves (this is a huge piece of mind when I'm not home). If you need your pool cleaned by a true professional, please contact Mike at Summerlin Hills Pool Service, your pool and your wallet will thank you!
